The Annual Sailpast and Review of the Fleet by the Commodore marks the official opening of the Club. As events at QCYC go, this is quite traditional and formal. It is also a day when all members celebrate the new sailing season... This is an all-day event to which all members are invited and encouraged, if not expected, to attend. There are four components to the day: Review of the Fleet in the afternoon, sail past of the squadron, post-Sailpast social, and the dinner/dance in the Great Hall in the evening.

• 1320    AQ II departs for Review of The Fleet
• 1330    Fleet assembles for the Review
• 1345    Review of the Fleet commences
• 1600    Sail past of the Squadron in the Lagoon by the Flag Officers & the pipers
• 1630    Commodore’s Punchbowl Reception
• 1745    Formal Dinner
• 1745    Head Table Piped in
• 2020    Head Table departs for Flag Lowering Ceremony
• 2040    Sunset and Flag Lowering Ceremony
• 2045    Dancing
• 2300    The party is over.

The tradition is that members with boats in the QCYC Squadron who do not partake in the Review of the Fleet to honour the Club’s Commodore must present the Commodore with a bottle of rum in lieu,
